Who we are and what this covers
Marketing Growth Group (“MGG,” “we,” “us,” “our”) is a marketing consultancy based in Port Clinton, Ohio. We work with law firms and with individual attorneys building their practices.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to:
- marketinggrowthgroup.com and any subdomain we operate, including our client content approval portal at approvals.marketinggrowthgroup.com
- Email, text messages, forms, quizzes and assessments we send or host
- Information we collect from clients, prospective clients, vendors and business partners in the ordinary course of our work
It does not apply to websites we build or manage for our clients. Those are governed by the client’s own privacy policy.
We are a business-to-business company. Our services are directed to attorneys, law firms, SaaS companies and other businesses, not to consumers or to children.
The short version
- We do not sell, rent, trade or license your personal information, and we never have.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with service providers that support services such as customer care or message delivery. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
- Text messages are optional. You can opt in and out at any time, and declining costs you nothing.
- Content our clients place in our approval portal is confidential and is not used for any purpose other than delivering that client’s work.
- You can ask us what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to help@marketinggrowthgroup.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Identifiers. Name, business email address, mailing address, telephone and mobile number.
- Professional information. Firm or company name, role, practice area, jurisdiction, firm size.
- Content you submit. Anything you write into a form, an email, an assessment, a quiz, or the approval portal, including comments, edit requests and approval decisions.
- Account information. Username, authentication credentials and account settings for the approval portal.
- Payment information. If you engage us, billing contact and payment details. Card numbers are processed by our payment processor and are not stored on our systems.
You choose whether to give us any of this. If you would rather not, you can still read the public parts of our website. You may not be able to use features that depend on the information, such as the approval portal or an assessment result.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our sites we collect, through cookies and similar technologies: IP address, browser and operating system, device identifiers, referring and exit pages, pages viewed, files downloaded, and the date, time and length of your visit. If you reach us from a mobile device and you have location services enabled, we may receive approximate location. You can turn that off in your device settings.
Information from other sources
We may receive your business contact information from a colleague who refers you, from a firm that engages us on your behalf, from public professional directories and bar listings, or from business data providers. Where we obtain contact details this way, we use them to reach out about our services and you can tell us to stop at any time.
How we use information
- To provide the services a client has engaged us to perform
- To operate the approval portal, including authentication, reminders and the approval record
- To answer inquiries and follow up on requests
- To send scheduling, billing and account messages
- To send marketing communications you have asked to receive, or that are relevant to your professional role, with an unsubscribe link in every one
- To measure and improve our website, content and campaigns
- To meet our legal, tax, contractual and recordkeeping obligations
- To protect our rights, our clients and our systems against fraud, abuse and security incidents
We do not use your personal information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Text messages
This section governs our SMS program and is written to satisfy mobile carrier requirements.
What the program is. MGG sends two kinds of text messages, and they are separate:
- Content approval alerts. Service messages to clients and their authorized users about content awaiting approval, approaching or past its approval date, or changed after approval.
- Account and scheduling messages. Appointment confirmations, reminders and account notices.
Consent. We send text messages only to a mobile number you gave us with your express written consent, collected through a checkbox that is never pre-selected. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing anything from us. Declining does not affect the service you receive; you will continue to receive the same notices by email.
Sharing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information may be shared with service providers that support services such as customer care or message delivery. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Frequency. Message frequency varies with the volume of content in your queue. In normal use this is a small number of messages per month.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier’s rates govern, and we are not responsible for charges from your carrier.
Opting out. Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts. You will receive a single confirmation and nothing after that. Reply START to rejoin.
Help. Reply HELP to any message, or email help@marketinggrowthgroup.com.
Carriers. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed and depends on your carrier and device.
Full SMS terms are here: SMS Terms and Conditions.
Client content and confidentiality
Our clients place unpublished marketing content into our approval portal. That content, and the comments and approval decisions attached to it, is confidential.
- It is visible only to the client’s authorized users and to MGG personnel assigned to that account.
- It is never shared with another client, sold, or used to promote MGG without the client’s written permission.
- It is stored on infrastructure operated by our hosting and application vendors under contracts that restrict their use of it to providing the service.
- Access is limited to the people who need it, and access is removed when an engagement ends or a user is deactivated.
If you engage us under a separate confidentiality agreement or engagement letter, that agreement controls where it is more protective than this policy.
Artificial intelligence
We use AI tools in our work, including drafting and research assistance, and in features of our software. Where we do:
- We use business or enterprise tiers of these services under contracts that restrict the vendor’s use of the data we submit.
- We do not permit client content submitted through our approval portal to be used to train third-party AI models where our vendor agreements allow us to control that setting, and we configure it accordingly.
- We do not submit client confidential information to consumer-grade AI tools.
A current list of the vendors that process client content is available to clients on request.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how our sites are used.
We use Google Analytics. Google’s practices are described at google.com/policies/privacy/partners, and you can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
We may use advertising and remarketing technologies that allow us to show our ads to people who have visited our site. You can control most of this through your browser settings and through your ad settings with the relevant platform.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Browsers vary in how they signal tracking preferences, and there is no single industry standard for Do Not Track, so we do not respond to Do Not Track headers. We do honor the Global Privacy Control signal where applicable law requires it.
When we share information
We do not sell, rent, trade or license personal information. We share it only as described here.
Service providers. Companies that host our sites, deliver our email and text messages, run our CRM, process payments, provide analytics and provide security services. They receive only what they need, they are bound by contract to use it solely to provide the service to us, and they may not use it for their own purposes.
Professional advisors. Our accountants, insurers and attorneys, under professional duties of confidentiality.
Legal obligations. Where required by law, subpoena, court order or lawful request from a government authority.
To protect people and property. Where we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to investigate or prevent fraud, a security incident, or harm to any person.
Business transfer. If MGG is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to honor this policy or give you notice and a choice.
With your direction. Where you ask us to share information, for example with a colleague at your firm.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described here, and then for as long as required by our legal, tax and recordkeeping obligations.
- Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete, then removed from active use
- Client engagement records and approval records: for the engagement and for the period our contracts and professional recordkeeping obligations require
- Website analytics: retained per our analytics configuration
- Text message consent records: retained for the period carrier and regulatory rules require, so that we can evidence your consent
How we protect information
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information and the size of our business. These include access controls, encryption in transit, vendor security review, and incident response procedures that we activate if we have reason to believe personal information has been compromised. We require our vendors to notify us promptly of any incident affecting information we provided to them.
No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee that information will never be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed in violation of our safeguards, and you send information to us at your own risk.
Your choices and your rights
Everyone. You can:
- Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any message
- Reply STOP to any text message
- Ask us what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong
- Ask us to delete information we no longer need
Write to help@marketinggrowthgroup.com. We will verify your identity before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time the applicable law requires.
We will not treat you differently for exercising a privacy right.

If you live in one of those states you may exercise those rights by emailing help@marketinggrowthgroup.com. Where the law provides an appeal process, you may appeal a denial by replying to our response, and we will inform you of your right to contact your state attorney general.
EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland
We are a US business serving US clients and we do not target our services to individuals in these jurisdictions. If you are in one of them and we hold your personal information, our lawful bases are: performance of a contract with you; our legitimate interest in operating and marketing a business-to-business service; your consent where we ask for it; and compliance with legal obligations.
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. If personal information is transferred to the United States we rely on appropriate safeguards where required. You may complain to your supervisory authority. Contact help@marketinggrowthgroup.com to exercise a right.
Children
Our website and services are for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email help@marketinggrowthgroup.com and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the “last updated” date above. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold about you, we will give notice by email or a notice on our site. The English version controls.
